The “art of design” means inventing something totally new to meet a particular need by employing the creative design process.  Solutions can be playful, ironic, challenging - whatever works!

  • A Santa Claus photo house designed to resemble a “snow globe” with Santa in it – making all of us observers feel that we are in Lilliputian land.

  • Neighborhood community centers for earthquake victims in Kobe, Japan.  Temporary community gathering places shipped over from Washington and assembled on site.  Tilt-up wood frames covered with translucent corrugated fiberglass create structures that glow in the night like welcoming “lanterns”.

  • A school emergency supplies storage building designed as a playground structure.

  • Design of a bra to be auctioned off for breast cancer research.
